Abstract
This work was done with the objective of getting to know in a general manner the variation ranges, in oil palm plantations, of the different edaphic and leaf parameters which are determined in the chemical analysis and to establish contrasts within the four productive zones in the country. The statistical study used data from the results bank that is being elaborated in the Leaf And Soil Analysis Laboratory of Cenipalma, which included 1849 leaf samples and 710 soil samples. To establish the comparisons among zones of production the mid values for each parameter and the individual results were grouped in categories according to its agronomic interpretation compared with critical levels tables. According to the results the following statements can be made: i) there are important contrasts within the four zones of production in relation with different leaf parameters and soils; ii) In the majority of the cases there is a high relation between the edaphic and leaf parameters; iii)from the high frequency on values graded as low or agronomically inadequate, it is deduced that there is the need of substantially improving the soils and the nutritional state of the oil palm crops in Colombia.
