Use of biomass to generate energy could reduce dependency on fossil fuels and significant advantage lies in reduction of net carbon dioxide emissions to atmosphere. Biomass feedstock from oil palm plantation & palm oil mill has long been identified as a sustainable source of renewable energy particularly in palm oil producing countries. Being the world largest producer of palm oil, Indonesia generates huge quantities of oil palm & palm oil biomass. It is therefore critical that the industry consistently adopts new and innovative techniques, through the availability of new knowledge and technology, to ensure that investment in the oil palm industry remains competitive and in harmony with the environment. A must-attend for anyone involved in the oil palm & palm oil industry, 3rd ICOPB brings the world’s biomass expertise together, to examine the issues impacting on business today and in the future. The planned 2-day event promises to be highly informative and thought provoking.
