| dc.description | Climate change and variability have introduced new challenges for Colombia’s oil palm agroindustry. Efficient and sustainable water management is essential to improving oil palm productivity. With this goal in mind, a Cenipalma research team conducted a study to assess the impact of five different water conditions on crop growth and productivity, as well as to estimate water consumption. The objective was to determine the water requirements of mature oil palms and contribute to optimizing water use in the national agroindustry. Una gestión eficiente y sostenible del recurso hídrico es clave para mejorar la productividad de la palma de aceite. Con este propósito, un equipo de investigación de Cenipalma realizó un estudio orientado a evaluar el impacto de cinco condiciones hídricas sobre elcrecimiento y la productividad del cultivo, así como a estimar su consumo de agua. El objetivo fue determinar las necesidades hídricas de la palma adulta y contribuir a optimizar su uso en la agroindustria nacional.
