| dc.description | The Gated pipe irrigation system is a surface irrigation system where water is transported and distributed through PVC pipes or other type of pipes to the trenches for localized irrigation. Palmar del Llano S.A. implemented this system in its plantations and it has proven to be highly efficient compared to the previous flood irrigation system. It produces significant savings both in water and money. This article describes its implementation, and presents the results obtained, particularly in the dry season when it is put into operation. | en-US |

Palmar del Llano S.A. lo implementó en sus fincas y ha resultado ser altamente eficiente en comparación con el que había por inundación. Produce ahorros significativos en agua y en dinero.
