Other uses include soaps and the tensioactives industries where lauric oils compete with petrochemical derivatives. The supply of the two oils is rising gradually, though with marked fluctuations for copra. Prices remain high but also fluctuate in response to supply. Market stabilization would be assisted by higher production, at levels which would assure that these oils may always be used for specific processes. | |
