Problems in the segregation of transgenic plant products and labelling of food products derived from them are examined in the case of transgenic maize, developed by Ciba-Geigy and Monsanto. Export markets are currently affected by differences in the status of transgenic crops in Europe and other countries which have accepted them, such as Canada, Japan and the USA. | |
