Descripción
This paper is intended to extend and update some data reported earlier on (palm) oil extraction rate (OER) and to highlight some sources of variabilities viz trend variation, seasonality and climatic effects on OER based on additional data and preliminary results from a regression analysis on OER in relationship to season, rainfall and sunshine hours. Low OER in 1992 as well as 1993 could be explained mainly by sunshine hours. Effects of low OER on Malaysian palm oil production was examined.
