Abstract
Use of biomass to generate energy could reduce dependency on fossil fuels and significant advantage lies in reduction of net carbon dioxide emissions to atmosphere. Biomass feedstock from oil palm plantation & palm oil mill has long been identified as a sustainable source of renewable energy particularly in palm oil producing countries. Being the world largest producer of palm oil, Indonesia generates huge quantities of oil palm & palm oil biomass.
