Abstract
Initially this paper presents a context of the Canadian agricultural sector and outlines that this sector represents 9% of GDP and 15% of employment. It also points out the main crops, their hectarage and the regions where they are grown. It includes the issues that are facing by the Canadian export marketers, namely: maturing agribusiness markets, changing grower?s demographics, international market access, biotechnology, environmental sustainment and market growth. Then it discusses the four marketing models used in Canada, which are: The Canadian Wheat Board, the Marketing Co-operatives, the Canola Council of Canada and the Canadian Dairy Commission. Finally it summarizes the impacts of these models on the incomes of the growers and the keys to the success of the models.
