Efficiency in the recuperation of oil : effect of the agronomic practices and the industrial process on the oil recuperation rate

Abstract
At a world level, in is presently accepted to measure the efficiency of a commercial oil palm plantation by the amount of oil produced by surface unit (tons of oil/ hectare). The factors that intervene in the result are two: the production of fresh fruit bunches per surface unit (tons of Fresh Fruit Bunches / hectare and oil yield per fresh fruit bunch (tons oil / tons of Fresh Bunches), defined as the oil recuperation rate. In this article, the influence of the agronomic handling and the industrial process on the oil recuperation rate is analyzed, as well as the measures that should be adopted in order to maximize said rate. A nivel mundial, en la actualidad, es aceptado medir la eficiencia de una plantación comercial e palma de aceite por la cantidad aceite producido por unidad de superficie (t. de aceite/ha). Son dos los factores que intervienen en el resultado: la producción de racimos de fruta fresca por unidad de superficie (t RFF/ha) y rendimiento de aceite por racimo de fruta fresca (t. de aceite/t RFF), definido como la tasa de recuperación de aceite (TEA). En este artículo se analiza la influencia del manejo agronómico y el proceso industrial sobre la TEA y las medidas que se deben adoptar para maximizarla.
