Abstract
In order to evaluate the present efficiency of the nut recuperation process operations and to identify the main variables that affect the performance of the equipment in the Northern Zone of Colombia, a project called "Evaluation of the efficiency in the nut recuperation process" was proposed. In this work, the proposal was made to evaluate and classify the losses of nuts, according to their magnitude in each stage and compare three types of separation of the crushed mixture. In the general nut recuperation process it was observed that the greatest loss occurs in the separation of fiber - nut and its high dependence on the operation and type of pressing equipment, while the loss in shells is less and depends, to a great degree, on the separation system (pneumatic, hydraulic and combined) and on the oil palm genetic material. Con el fin de evaluar la eficiencia actual de las operaciones del proceso de recuperación de almendra y de identificar las principales variables que afectan el desempeño de los equipos en la Zona Norte de Colombia, se planteó un proyecto denominado "Evaluación de la eficiencia en el proceso de recuperación de almendra". En este trabajo se propuso evaluar y clasificar las pérdidas de almendra acorde con su magnitud en cada etapa y comparar tres tipos de separación de la mezcla triturada. En el proceso general de recuperación de almendra se observó que la mayor pérdida se encuentra en la separación de fibra - nuez y su alta dependencia con la operación y tipo de equipos de prensado, mientras que la pérdida en cáscaras es inferior y depende en gran parte del sistema de separación (neumático, hidráulico y combinado) y del material genético de palma de aceite.
