| dc.description | The International Standardization Organization - ISO - has published 12,500 standards since 1947 and has 138 member countries. With the expansion of economy and commercial exchange among nations, the companies began to observe the exportation market as the only solution to the frequent crisis of the national markets. It became necessary to look for a common language and a base of confidence that would assure the quality of the provisions and therefore guarantee a stable relation between the client and the supplier, based on quality assurance. The ISO 9000 Standards Series has become obligatory managerial tools because of the force of customs and the international requirement. And whoever does not have it is in real disadvantage in order to compete in the world scope efficiently and profitably. In Colombia, with the economic opening, greater interest began to be given to the application of the ISO 9000 standards. Without discarding the reality that the country is experiencing, it is observed that the companies in the palm sector have faced the crisis with relative success and that in the ISO 9000 Standards they find a strategic tool in order to be more competitive in the different settings, so as to remain in the market and obtain advantages from it, improving processes, reducing losses and achieving a great total commitment from its collaborators as principal players in productivity. The implementation of a good quality system contributes all of these benefits to a company. ICONTEC (The Colombian Institute of Technical Standards) has developed the different certification plans which will allow the Colombian companies to be in agreement with the globalized market. Along these lines, it has developed procedures in agreement with international outlines, which permit offering a certification which is acknowledged worldwide through a totally Colombian organism, trustworthy and leader in Latin America. ICONTEC, with resources from the BID-FOMIN and with the economic and logistic support of the SENA (the National Learning Service), will initiate a program in order to incorporate some 1,000 new PyMES into the process and financially support the certification of approximately 400 companies. With this program, the Institute seeks to participate with the production guilds in search of the international competitivity of the Colombian producers. The ISO 9000 standards are presently undergoing a revision and updating process which will incorporate the observations and improvements proposed by the different players in the process. The Institute is updating all of its training courses and is adjusting the qualification and training of its auditors in order to offer the certification with this new version, as of the year 2001. | en-US |
| dc.description | La Organización Internacional de Normalización ISO ha publicado 12.500 normas desde 1947 y cuenta con 138 países miembros. Con la expansión de la economía y el intercambio comercial entre las naciones las empresas empezaron a mirar el mercado de exportación como la única salida a las frecuentes crisis de los mercados nacionales. Se hizo necesario buscar un lenguaje común y una base de confianza que asegurara la calidad de los suministros y por ende garantizara una relación estable entre cliente y proveedor, basada en el aseguramiento de la calidad. La serie de Normas ISO 9000 se han vuelto herramientas gerenciales obligatorias por la fuerza de la costumbre y la exigencia internacional. Y quien no la tenga se encuentra en franca desventaja para competir en el ámbito mundial con eficiencia y rentabilidad. En Colombia, con la apertura económica se empezó a dar un mayor interés en la aplicación de las normas ISO 9000. Sin apartarnos de la realidad que vive el país, se observa que las empresas del sector palmero han enfrentado con relativo éxito la crisis y que encuentra en las Normas ISO 9000 una herramienta estratégica para ser más competitivas en los diferentes escenarios, para mantenerse en el mercado y sacar ventajas de él mejorando procesos, reduciendo pérdidas y logrando un gran compromiso total de sus colaboradores como actores principales de la productividad. Todos estos beneficios los aporta a una empresa la implementación de un buen sistema de calidad. ICONTEC ha desarrollado los diferentes esquemas de certificación que permitan a las empresas colombianas estar en el concierto del mercado globalizado. En esta vía ha desarrollado procedimientos acordes con lineamientos internacionales, los cuales permiten ofrecer una certificación reconocida a nivel mundial a través de un organismo totalmente colombiano, confiable y líder en América Latina. El ICONTEC, con recursos del BID-FOMIN y con el apoyo económico y logístico del SENA, iniciará un programa para incorporar al proceso unas 1000 nuevas Pymes y apoyar financieramente la certificación de unas 400 empresas. Con este programa el Instituto busca participar, con los gremios de la producción en busca de la competitividad internacional de los productores colombianos. Las normas ISO 9000 se encuentran en un proceso de revisión y actualización, que incorporará las observaciones y mejoras propuestas por los distintos actores del proceso. El Instituto está actualizando todos sus cursos de capacitación y está ajustando la calificación y entrenamiento de sus auditores, para ofrecer a partir de 2001 la certificación con esta nueva versión. | es-ES |
