Abstract
During the observation carried in order to identify early symptoms of the bud rot disease of the oil palm (PC, for its name in Spanish), not only in Colombia but also in Ecuador and Peru, it was possible to identify the association between the presence of eggs of specimens of the Tettigoniidae family in spear leaves with the very early symptoms of PC, becoming this situation in a circumstantial evidence of the roll of those insects in the spread process of the PC. In the laboratory it was possible to maintain the individuals emerged from field collected eggs, up to their adult stage. In this work it has been possible to identify specimens of two genera of the Tettigoniidae family in the Conocephalinae subfamily: Neoconocephalus and Copophora.
