| dc.description | The company Agroince Ltda., in view of a history of oil palms growing too large, with excessively long leaves that prevented the development of weed populations, and ensuing pruning and harvesting problems, decided to undertake a thinning program. To this end, the company tried two different treatments (one with dependent polygons and the other with independent polygons) and a control group. The program was originally intended to run for 3 years, of which 22 months have passed, but on the recommendation by Cenipalma it was extended to 5 years. The results presented in this report, although not conclusive, shed light on what can be expected from a thinning system. | en-US |
| dc.description | La empresa Agroince Ltda., debido a antecedentes como que las palmas de aceite crecían en exceso, las hojas de las mismas eran demasiado largas e impedían el desarrollo de la población de malezas, y se presentaban problemas en las labores de poda y de cosecha, decidió emprender un programa de raleo. Para ello, hizo dos tratamientos diferentes (uno de polígonos dependientes y otro de polígonos independientes) y mantuvo un testigo. El trabajo se trazó a tres años, de los cuales han transcurrido 22 meses y, por recomendación de Cenipalma, se extenderá a cinco años. Los resultados que se presentan en este informe, aunque no son definitivos, dan luces sobre lo que se puede esperar de un sistema de raleo. | es-ES |
