Abstract
Certain market characteristics have caused the world production of palm oil to increase. Today, production stands at more than 43 million tons per year and this has also led to increased production of oil palm planting materials by different methods, including clones and biclonal seeds, whose use is expected to increase in the coming years. This article gives an overview of the producers of these materials and the materials themselves, and outlines the future challenges facing the market worldwide.
