Abstract
This paper shows an estimation about the costs related to the capture of information of the bud rot disease, lethal wilt, R. palmarum and defoliating insects. From a decision making flow approach and a cost analysis, this article determines how much money is required for identifying and monitoring the presence of the diseases and plagues here considered. It was done to know the cost of information to be provided for the Geographic Information System (GIS). Because of the economic exercise it was possible to identify the lack of unification in the criteria of monitoring of the plagues and diseases that were part of the study, in terms of frequency of disease recognition, sampling methodologies, among others.
