Abstract
Bud rot (BR) is the most limiting disease for palm oil production in Colombia, the interspecific OxG hybrids are presented as a genetic alternative to overcome this health problem, given that some cultivars have shown resistance to this disease. However, due to the deficient natural pollination that characterizes hybrid palms, it limits the production of fresh fruit clusters, which makes it necessary to implement management practices such as artificial pollination with α-naphthaleneacetic acid and the optimal harvest point. Consequently, thisstudy aimed to evaluate the implementation of the best management practices of hybrid cultivars that includes artificial pollination with ANA in two presentations: ANA in liquid mixture (sprinkled) and ANA in solid mixture (dusted) and the harvest of bunches at optimum point of maturity; as a tool for the adoption of these technologies in small palm growers. The artificial pollination process was documented in each of the mixtures, productivity indicators were considered: bunch filling, average bunch weight (PMR) and oil contents in the laboratory and processing plant. Additionally, the unches were characterized according to their ripeningstage. Finally, an economic evaluation of pollination methods was carried out.
