Abstract
The lecture presents an analysis of the agricultural sector in the long term, its behavior, and what can be expected in the future. Growth of the agricultural sector is compared with that of the Colombian economy in general, and the conclusion is that the behavior of the former is lagging behind the latter. The article takes a look at the political and protection policies, and at the sectorial investment, which are compared to those of other countries which have experienced economic opening, such as Brazil, Chile and MexicoLa conferencia presenta un análisis del sector agrícola en el largo plazo, cómo ha sido su comportamiento y qué se puede esperar en el futuro. Se compara el crecimiento del sector agrícola con el de la economía Colombiana en general, y se concluye que el comportamiento del primero está rezagado con respecto al del segundo. Se echa un vistazo a la política comercial y de protección, y a la inversión sectorial, que se comparan con las de países que también han tenido procesos de apertura como Brasil, Chile y México.
