Abstract
The National Agricultural Bourse (BNA) carried out a study in the palm sector based on its imminent exposure to fluctuations in the international price and the behavior of the exchange rate that have affected it for a long time. So, the entity began to offer a series of services to the sector in the domestic market. It deals with tools such as price coverage, the derivatives market, forward contracts etc. responding to the need to identify and quantify the risk, and come up with optimal solutions to transfer it to the market through a strategy that supplies a solution in terms of coverage of the international price and the exchange rate.La Bolsa Nacional Agropecuaria (BNA) realizó un estudio del sector palmero basado en su exposición inminente a las fluctuaciones de precio internacional, y en el comportamiento de la tasa de cambio, que lo vienen afectando de tiempo atrás. A propósito, la entidad comenzó a ofrecerle una serie de servicios al sector en el mercado doméstico. Se trata de herramientas como las coberturas de precio, mercado de derivados, contratos forward, etc., cuyo uso responde a la necesidad de identificar el riesgo, cuantificarlo y generar las soluciones óptimas para transferirlo al mercado mediante una estrategia que suministre una solución en términos de cobertura de precio internacional y de tasa de cambio.
