Abstract
The Round Table On Sustainable Palm Oil/ RSPO is a worldwide initiative that aims to contribute to increasing the use and sustainable production of the product that is its inspiration. In order to develop the management of all of the actors in the value chain of palm oil the RSPO approved what it terms Principles and Criteria (PandC) which should undergo a national process of interpretation (NI) in the palm oil producer countries. Herein, there are details of the progress made in this process in Colombia, which began in 2008 with the aim of drawing up a guide for the certification of the companies considering meeting with the requirements of the PandC.La Mesa Redonda sobre Aceite de Palma Sostenible (RSPO, por su sigla en inglés) es una iniciativa mundial cuyo fin es contribuir a incrementar el uso y la producción sostenible del producto que la inspira. Para desarrollar la gestión de todos los actores de la cadena de valor del aceite de palma, la RSPO aprobó los llamados Principios y Criterios (PyC), que deben ser sometidos en los países productores de aceite de palma a una tarea de interpretación nacional (IN). En este documento se detallan los avances de tal proceso en Colombia, el cual comenzó en el año 2008 con el objetivo de generar un documento guía para la certificación de las empresas que consideren ir cumpliendo los requerimientos de los PyC.
