| dc.description | The Bud Rot complex is a disease widely speed in America. For long only interspecific Hybrids were thought to be resistant to that disease. Pure E. guineensis have confirmed to be partially resistant. Despite Bud Rot has quite different symptoms from one location to another, the genetic resistances to that disease observed in one location are valid in another. Different strategy which are complementary have been developed as well for interspecific hybrids and E. guineensis.

Por mucho tiempo, solo los híbridos interespecíficos fueron pensados para ser resistentes a la enfermedad. No obstante, se ha confirmado que E. guineensis puras son parcialmente resistentes. A pesar de que la Pudrición del cogollo presenta síntomas bastante diferentes de un lugar a otro, las resistencias genéticas a la enfermedad observadas en un lugar son válidas para otros.
