The oil content, seed yield parameters and fatty acis composition of high-and low-eruc acid Brassica (napus and hirta) seed oils were studied under threee different controlled-temperature regimes; low, 12/17C, medium, 17/2.C, and high, 22/27C. No fruit set was obtained beyond 27C. Under low temperatures, seeds of high-euric acid Brassica napus var. Norin and Brassica hirta (Sinapis alba) var. Bet Dagan developed higher erucic and lower acid and higher level of liolenic acid. The reverse was found at high temperatures. In all three cultivars, oil content and seed yield paramets decreased significantly with an increase in temperature. In addition, higher temperatures accelerated the time of seed maturity. The rate of synbthesis of euric acid during seed development was found to be affected by the temperature regime.
