| dc.description | A survey of insect pests found on commercial plantings of rattans and wild rattans in Sabah was carried out. The more common pests ecountered were Gangara thyrsis (Hespriidae), Xystrocera globosa and Poecilips subscribrosus (Scolytidae), Chalcosoma spp. (Scarabaeidae), Xystrocera globosa (Cerambycidae) and Oecophylla smaragdina (Formicidae). The morphology, mode of infestation and management of these pests are described. | |
