This short communication is to document the occurrence of trunk rot in oleifera backcrosses, a phenomenon which has not been reported before. The backcrosses originated from crossing they hybrids of Deli dura (dura form of Ealeis guineensis) of SOCFIN origin and the Kuala Lumpur Melanococca (KLM), and oleifera (Elaeis oleífera) palm believed to be of Brazilian origin (Ooi et al., 1981), whith Deli duras of /serdang and Ulu Remis origins, i.e. (D x O) x D.
