Abstract
Golden Hope has a firm commitment towards a long-term Elaeis guineensis breeding programme to continuously produce quality and higher yielding dura (D) X pisifera (P) planting materials. This is evident with the different upgrades of D X P planting materials produced over several decades of breeding and selection at the Oil Palm Research Station, Banting. Recent data demonstrated the significant yield improvement of the Deli dura X 1st generation BM119 pisifera. The superiority of Golden Hope D X Pplanting materials was shown in a comparative D X P trial as well as in commercial plantings.
