Abstract
Although existing tools (GPS, photogrammetry, teledetection, etc.) and software (CAD, Geographical information system. Agricultural management system. Accounting and cost oriented system, etc.) are more and more adapted to the world of agriculture and its needs, it is common to see that few companies or oil palm plantations realize the benefits brought by the total systematization of all processes from the initial computer assisted field design to the complete systematization of all processes, such as administrative ones, internal or external communication processes or agronomic ones. It is not very clear either the limitations of such technologies and sometimes, its difficult application in the field. This article tries to first show through practical examples the different existing tools with their use, benefits and limitations and at last presents a theoretical example of the integration of such technologies in the processes of an African palm plantation.
