| dc.description | Although existing tools (GPS, photogrammetry, teledetection, etc.) and software (CAD, Geographical information system. Agricultural management system. Accounting and cost oriented system, etc.) are more and more adapted to the world of agriculture and its needs, it is common to see that few companies or oil palm plantations realize the benefits brought by the total systematization of all processes from the initial computer assisted field design to the complete systematization of all processes, such as administrative ones, internal or external communication processes or agronomic ones. It is not very clear either the limitations of such technologies and sometimes, its difficult application in the field. This article tries to first show through practical examples the different existing tools with their use, benefits and limitations and at last presents a theoretical example of the integration of such technologies in the processes of an African palm plantation. | en-US |
| dc.description | Aunque existen herramientas (GPS, fotogrametría, teledetección, etc.) y programas (CAD, Sistemas de información geográfica. Sistemas de gestión de cultivos, Sistemas de costos y contables, etc.) más y más adaptados al mundo agrícola y sus necesidades, es común ver que pocas empresas o plantaciones de palma de aceite visualizan los beneficios que puede traer un manejo totalmente sistematizado de los procesos, desde el diseño inicial asistido por computadora de una siembra hasta la sistematización completa de los procesos tanto administrativos, de comunicación interna o externa, como agronómicos. Tampoco parecen muy claras las restricciones que tienen dichas tecnologías y, a veces su difícil aplicación en el campo. En primer lugar, este artículo trata, mediante ejemplos prácticos, de presentar las diferentes herramientas tecnológicas disponibles con sus usos, beneficios y restricciones, y por último presenta un ejemplo teórico de integración de todas estas tecnologías dentro de los procesos de una plantación de palma de aceite. | es-ES |
